The Hungarian-Swiss pianist Gabriella Adorjàn was born in Transylvania into a family of artists and teachers and grew up in Budapest. Her versatility characterizes both her artistic and pedagogical activities.
Her heartfelt project is the founding of the Crossover Concert Association in her home town of Mettmenstetten (canton of Zurich). With this innovative association, she organizes concerts that bring together regional and international musicians from a wide range of genres - and specifically promotes young musical talent. Gabriella Adorjàn received her first basic musical training at the renowned Budapest Opera House Choir School for Young Musicians, where she was taught according to the Kodály method. She demonstrated her extraordinary talent at the age of eleven when she presented a selection of Scarlatti sonatas on a Hungarian radio program.
After studying piano at the Szent István Conservatory in Budapest, she went on to gain a master's degree in performance piano at the Basel University of Music FHNW (concert diploma). She continued her artistic training at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK), where she completed a Master's degree in Specialized Chamber Music.
Her formative teachers and mentors include Mària Hortobàgyi, Angelika Hàmori, Gyula Kiss, Laszlo Gyimesi, Filippo Gamba and Ulrich Koella. She received further important impulses in master classes with Imre Rohmann, Elisso Virsaladze, Hans-Jürg Strub and Michael Biehl.
During her studies she already worked as a teacher for piano and elementary music school in Basel and as a répétiteur at the Basel Music Academy and at the Zurich University of the Arts in various instrumental classes and opera productions.
From 2021 to 2023, she studied music management at the Bern University of the Arts and gained valuable practical experience through an internship in the music education department of the Zurich Opera House in spring 2023.
Gabriella Adorjàn currently leads a piano class at the Hünenberg Music School (Canton of Zug) and passes on her international expertise and passion for music to her students. She is a sought-after, stylistically versatile accompanist and chamber musician.
